J.W. Reed Christian Academy began with a vision to help Central Iowa students discover their God-given potential.
Our History
Built on a faithful foundation.
J.W. Reed Christian Academy honors the legacy of the late Presiding Bishop Jeremiah Reed and the late Dr. Willie Mae Reed, who founded the school with a vision centered on faith, education, and service to God. Established in 2011 as a homeschool co-op, the academy has grown into a respected institution that emphasizes academic excellence while also fostering spiritual growth and understanding of the Gospel.
In January 2018, Pastor Dwight Reed, the youngest son of Bishop and Mother Reed, led the academy through its successful pursuit of K–12 accreditation. As pastor of Christ Apostolic Temple, the church out of which the school grew, he brought the relationships and resources needed to carry the effort through. Under his leadership, J.W. Reed Christian Academy continues to thrive as a faith-based educational community committed to developing the minds and character of its students. The academy is proudly accredited by Cognia.
