Our History

J. W. Reed Christian Academy stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of the Late Presiding Bishop Jeremiah Reed and the Late Dr. Willie Mae Reed, who founded the academy with a vision rooted in faith, education, and service to God. Originally conceived in 2011, as a homeschool co-op, the academy has grown into a beacon of learning where students not only acquire knowledge but also explore the profound truths of the Gospel and experience the love of God firsthand.
In December of 2017, a pivotal moment in the academy's history occurred when Pastor Dwight Reed, the youngest son of Bishop and Mother Reed, assumed the role of CEO. With a profound sense of purpose, Pastor Dwight Reed has embraced the responsibility of upholding and advancing the vision and legacy set forth by his revered parents. Under his guidance, J. W. Reed Christian Academy continues to thrive as an educational institution deeply rooted in faith and dedicated to shaping the minds and hearts of its students.
J.W. Reed Christian Academy is officially accredited by Cognia. Cognia’s accreditation process is a comprehensive and rigorous examination of curriculum and benchmarks. Cognia prides itself on high standards in education and provides a trustworthy mark of quality.
Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.”

Our Beliefs

The Godhead

We believe in One God and His name is Jesus Christ. We believe in the mystery of the One God who manifested Himself as Father in creation, in the person of His Son in redemption, and in the Church by the power of the Holy Ghost.

(I Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 9:6; John 14:6-10; Psalms 132:11; Isaiah 44:6,8; Revelations 1:18; 22:16)

Water Baptism
We believe in baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins for persons who have reached the age of understanding. (Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12; Acts 2:38).
The Plan of Salvation
We believe that everyone must repent from their sins, be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of sins and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

(Acts 2:4;36-40, John 3:3;5)
