English/Language Arts

Exploring language and communication with precision, coherence, and clarity.

Recognizing that thought and language underpin learning and interaction, focusing on the significance of grammar, spelling, vocabulary, composition, and literature instruction. Language is presented in a structured manner, fostering students’ development of organization, rationality, and logical thinking.

Reading

Given that children frequently mimic what they read, it’s imperative to equip them with both reading proficiency and character-building literature from an early stage.

History

A grounded perspective on time, governance, geography, and economics rooted in timeless truths.

History courses offer a compelling depiction of cultures, territories, faiths, values, heroes, achievements, and setbacks through the lens of biblical principles guiding the course of history.

In addition to historical narratives, students grasp the role of government as established by God for upholding law and order. Geography studies are seamlessly integrated to provide a holistic understanding of places in tandem with historical events.

Mathematics

The exploration of logic and order applied to scientific inquiry and everyday experiences.

Students appreciate comprehensive coverage of various branches of mathematics—arithmetic, geometry, algebra, and more—tailored to their developmental stage each year. Simultaneously, they benefit from a spiral approach, which revisits and builds upon concepts throughout each academic year and from one grade level to the next.

Science & Health

Exploring the diversity, structure, and rationality evident in the natural world.

Students delve into the intricacies of plants, animals, minerals, elements, forces, and the human body, all framed within an understanding of nature’s design and principles.

The curriculum offers age-appropriate exploration across various scientific disciplines, encompassing life sciences, chemistry, and physics.

J.W. Reed Christian Academy was founded on the belief that the inerrant, inspired Word of God, the Bible, is the only infallible rule of faith and practice.

Students will experience personal growth and development by an integrated understanding of biblical principles and academic knowledge. Emphasis on the spiritual, mental, social, and physical aspects of life will lead to the balanced development of the whole person.
